Experienced Data Management
Experienced Data Management for Mining Operations
AAM provides regular aerial surveys for BHPBilliton Mitsubishi Alliance’s Goonyella Riverside coal mine in Queensland, Australia.
“Aerial surveying provides high quality informationin a safe, accurate and timely manner. It supports our mine survey department,” says Damian Vella, Goonyella Riverside’s Chief Surveyor.
“We provide pit and spoil updates as part of our mine mapping service for the Goonyella Riverside Mine.” said Jamie Hansen, Senior Project Manager for AAM. “We understand that time is of the essence and getting the right answer quickly is vitally important to the mining process”.
As the leading mine mapping provider in Australia, AAM intimately understands what information mines want in terms of aerial data and how this information is best put to practical use. The emphasis is to identify the fundamental features that mine engineers require to assist in pit design and scheduling of earthworks.
AAM also supports Goonyella Riverside in the management of important environmental datasets such as ‘disturbance’ polygons. This information is stored and accessed via BMA’s corporate GIS which allows environmental officers to quickly and easily generate annual reports summarising areas of disturbance and rehabilitation as requested by government bodies.
The ultimate achievement of the data integration service that AAM delivers is that it is user-friendly. “It’s just another tool in the professional toolbox to be used when required,” explains Lachlan Wainwright GIS Coordinator.
Through the experiences gained with long standing relationships with Goonyella Riverside and other mines, AAM is able to make aerial surveying and GIS work for your organisation.
