UAV Surveying Over Waste Depot Site
UAV Over Kimbriki Recycling and Waste Disposal Depot
Woolpert was commissioned by Kimbriki Environmental Enterprises (KEE) to provide a Digital Terrain Model (DTM) and aerial survey to a cell surface on their Waste Disposal Depot. This helped calculate volume changes of specific site areas.
Woolpert was commissioned by Kimbriki Environmental Enterprises (KEE) to provide a Digital Terrain Model (DTM) and aerial survey to a cell surface on their Waste Disposal Depot. This helped calculate volume changes of specific site areas.
Situation
KEE required an updated Waste Disposal Depot surface survey involving approximately 150m x 500m of the depot’s land, boasting an excavation of 8-10m.

Action
Woolpert laid six ground control targets around the area of interest. We then captured the area via UAV with 2.5mm GSD imagery. A surface model was generated from the imagery by an auto-correlation process, with the final processed DTM imagery merging with the existing DTM model.
Result
We provided a fast, accurate and cost effective UAV data collection solution within five working days without the quality reduction. The updated surface model enabled KEE to calculate volume determinations over the waste cell.
