Dr. Zaffar Sadiq Mohamed-Ghouse visits greater Asia Pacific woolpack

Just last week, AAM, a Woolpert Company’s Director of Advisory and Innovation Dr Zaffar Mohamed-Ghouse caught up with our Kuala Lumpur and the Singapore teams, while visiting key regions of the Asia-Pacific #Woolpack.

Catching up with our Malaysian team, Zaffar shared unique insights from his role, delving deeper into discussions on geospatial perspectives. He took the opportunity to connect with some of our key clients and partners in the area; joining him, Malaysia Operations Manager, Maziana Muhamad. Some of these meetings included a sharing session on the geospatial update and Malaysia plan with Brigadier General Dr. Zambri Rabab, Director of Geospatial Defense, as well as an exploration of Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission objectives and issues with Aswadi Yusof, Head of Division Geospatial and Data Management. Zaffar and Maziana also met with engineering and project consultants Dr Nik. & Associates and received an introduction to the Department of Drainage and Irrigation Malaysia’s new Director of GIS and Facilities Gs. Baharudin Amad.

His time in Singapore saw him among 80 other senior geospatial officials for the Geo-Enabled Effective Land Administration Seminar, held in conjunction with Geo Connect Asia 2023. Led by Singapore Land Authority (SLA) and Victor Khoo, Co-Chair of the United Nations Expert Group on Land Administration and Management (EG-LAM), the seminar explored land management best practices through an international exchange between leading experts. These discussions will help guide countries in adopting the UN Framework for Effective Land Administration.

Participants covered issues ranging from reliable geospatial information, and how we can make this available, to leveraging geo-enabled capabilities to achieve sustainability. Chair of the United Nations Global Geospatial Information Management Private Sector Network (UN-GGIM PSN), Zaffar was joined by other experts from World Bank, Open Geospatial Consortium, and the International Federation of Surveyors to name a few.

Zaffar also had the opportunity to catch up with Singapore Office Production Manager Esther Seah and share geospatial insights.

It is always great to connect, face-to-face, and we thank our talented team of geospatial professionals in Malaysia and Singapore for delivering innovative geospatial solutions across the Asia-Pacific.
