Woolpert is excited to partner with Riegl Australia, through the acquisition of the state-of-the-art VZ-600i terrestrial laser scanner. This investment and integration of Riegl’s latest generation system further bolsters Woolpert’s tech stack to remain competitive and industry leading in the laser scanning and 3D modelling space.
This partnership demonstrates Woolpert’s commitment to delivering innovative survey solutions to our Asia-Pacific clients, while collaborating with international leaders in hardware and software used in various surveying applications.
The Reigl VZ-600i delivers a streamlined solution that enables high productivity, ultimate performance, extreme versatility and additional mobility like no other. Flexible in its use for indoor, outdoor and mobile mapping, the system excels in rapid data acquisition and processing for a wide range of applications.
“On behalf of the RIEGL company, I am pleased to announce the supply of our VZ-600i terrestrial laser scanner to Woolpert,” Glenne Blyth, Riegl Managing Director said. “This advanced laser scanning system, suitable for both static and mobile scanning, represents the latest in 3D laser scanning technology which will deliver both productivity gains and broaden potential scanning applications for the Woolpert Survey team.”
“We are excited to support Woolpert in delivering accurate and reliable results across their projects in the Asia-Pacific region with their new VZ-600i, and I look forward to a strong, lasting partnership moving forward.”
Woolpert deployed Riegl’s VZ-600i scanner to achieve G73 detail and levels survey of nine intersections to support a New South Wales (NSW) Renewable Energy Zone. The use of the scanner was transformative to the client’s work within Energy Transition, enabling continuous operations and increasing productivity. This was achieved by eliminating the need for access onto private property and through creating minimal to no impact to motorists.
Riegl’s automatic number plate and face blurring technology ensured the privacy of all works and members of the public, which was important to the client.
“The Real-Time Kinematic unit means scans can be natively geolocated, which has reduced the need for traditional scanning control, thereby minimising the time required on site,” said Joe Culliver, Woolpert Technical Director – Survey.
“Rapid scanning speeds have halved workflows through capturing both point cloud and images simultaneously. When the client needed to expand the scope during our mobilisation, our field team had every confidence the system could deliver on the additional requirements.”
Investing in the latest generation of terrestrial laser scanners means Woolpert is investing in our client’s project success. We are excited to partner with Riegl, leveraging the best of the best in tech to deliver our data-driven geospatial insights to the Asia-Pacific and beyond.
