AAM is excited to announce the addition of NorthSouth GIS (NZ) Ltd (NSG) to the team. The investment is a key part of AAM’s strategic plan to grow and support advanced geospatial solutions in New Zealand.
NSG, with offices in Wellington and Auckland, has been at the forefront in developing and promoting geospatial and GIS solutions across New Zealand. NSG operates across a broad range of industries with key applications servicing national, regional and local government, environment, forestry, agriculture and transport sectors. The sale of the business has been a planned and strategic move whereby the NSG owners worked closely with AAM to ensure NSG’s ongoing prominent position in New Zealand’s GIS market.
Frank Simmons the current NSG CEO will maintain his leadership in the business, supported by the continuation of the entire NSG team. “The synergies between NSG and AAM are many and we are fortunate that we now have the ability to propose a broader range of solutions and access a wider range of skills and resources for the benefit of our clients.” Frank said.
The excitement was echoed by AAM’s CIO Brian Nicholls, who commented, “NSG have developed GeoCirrus, a world leading geospatial cloud computing platform, providing our clients management and distribution of not just data but real geospatial intelligence. Importantly NSG is also an ESRI Gold Partner, which provides unique insights into future GIS developments on a global scale.”
AAM are eager to see NSG maintain its uniquely New Zealand outlook and to promote further specialist GeoIT skills and opportunities in New Zealand. The immediate focus will be to foster and support NSG customers ensuring the client-focus that has been NSG’s distinguishing trait is maintained.
