Last week, we had the pleasure of returning as proud sponsor of Locate Conference, Australia’s premier geospatial conference hosted by the Geospatial Council of Australia. Hosted at the International Convention Centre nestled in Sydney’s Darling Harbour, Locate24 attracted the highest number of delegates in the events ten year history.
Our second Locate conference as part of the Woolpack, it was a great pleasure to connect with esteemed industry colleagues, partners and clients throughout the week’s activities, on stage, in the exhibition hall and at many sideline social functions.
UN-GGIM Leadership Dinner – Sponsored by Woolpert
Geospatial leaders from across the Asia-Pacific converged in Sydney for the United Nations initiative on Global Geospatial Information Management Private Sector Network (UN-GGIM PSN) leadership dinner ahead of the Locate Conference week. The UN-GGIM Executive Board, Australia New Zealand Land Information Council, Geospatial Council of Australia, Geoscience Australia, and representatives from industry were invited to connect and collaborate to develop, build and extend the world’s capacity to benefit from geospatial information.
The Inaugural Woolpert Walk
We launched the Locate conference week with a focus on wellness, seizing the opportunity and the break in weather to relish the sights and sounds of Sydney’s iconic Darling Harbour. It was a great pleasure to invite our esteemed industry peers to join in on the fun, fostering connections before the week’s activities kicked into high gear.
Woolpert-sponsored plenary: The future of Geospatial Ecosystems

This session explored, and opened an interactive discussion into, the ‘Future of Geospatial Ecosystems,’ investigating how current and emerging Geospatial programs, technologies and trends are shaping the future of Geospatial, in particular in enabling cross-functional and cross-sectoral integration and interoperability across the growing network of geospatial programs, producers and users.
Geospatial - building the foundation of infrastructure
Daniel Kruimel, Asia-Pacific Sales Manager, delivered a practical exploration of geospatial practices, technologies and expertise that have enabled development of future-focused, community-defining infrastructure, in the Collective session of the conference program.
Geospatial data plays many important roles in infrastructure delivery and management. Data enables location of services; consultation and communication with communities; allocation of resources; disaster recovery and integration of new technologies. Now, geospatial data is providing the foundation for accelerating demand for infrastructure not seen in generations.
