The Australian Government Department of Defence has announced the establishment of the Geospatial Goods and Services Standing Offer Panel (GeoPanel).
The objective of the GeoPanel is to procure Geospatial goods, services and relevant emerging geospatial technologies from approved industry providers. The GeoPanel provides the framework for Australian Defence Organisation and Defence Portfolio Agencies to collaborate with industry, and identify innovative geospatial data in support of Australia’s defence and national interests.
Panel refreshes will allow Defence to adopt new suppliers and further expand requirements as business needs and industry capabilities evolve.
As a member of the GeoPanel, AAM, a Woolpert Company is excited by the opportunities it will create for the Australian geospatial industry. AAM looks forward to contributing to establishing the GeoPanel in the community.
AAM Managing Director Brian Nicholls welcomed the new Defence initiative.
“It is fantastic to see Defence collaborating with the geospatial industry and utilising our innovations for future projects. This is an exciting development that enables new avenues for growth and collaborative innovation.”

Director Australian Geospatial-Intelligence Organisation (AGO), Tom Hamilton, said the GeoPanel gives Defence the opportunity to access geospatial goods and services from Australian and international providers.
“I am proud to announce the establishment of the GeoPanel, allowing Defence to access essential industry capability to support its geospatial requirements,” Mr Hamilton said.
“Geospatial data is a critical enabler for Defence. Reliable data supports planning and conduct of Defence operations; ensures safety of navigation; and informs situational awareness, policy advice, and intelligence insights.
“Geospatial data allows the government to make rapid, well-informed decisions based on the best available understanding of the strategic environment.”
