Mohamed-Ghouse elected Chair of the UNGGIM – PSN

Congratulations to AAM, a Woolpert Company’s Director of Advisory and Innovation Dr Zaffar Sadiq Mohamed-Ghouse on his election as Chair of the United Nations Global Geospatial Information Management Private Sector Network (UN-GGIM PSN). 

The UN-GGIM PSN is a body of global representatives that work in collaboration with UN-GGIM member states and the UN-GGIM academic network to achieve a common geospatial goal. Meeting annually, the PSN supports UNGGIM’s initiatives to develop, strengthen and grow the world’s capacity to draw upon geospatial information to address global challenges, enable services and drive the United Nation’s global development agenda.  

As elected chair, Dr Mohamed-Ghouse will support, the PSN board in developing a roadmap for Private sector network activities and facilitate cooperation within the UNGGIM ecosystem.  

“Through strengthening partnerships between the public and private sector, member states can draw from this combined expertise to shape policies, processes, practices, capability and recommendations for their geospatial information infrastructure at a regional, national and global level,” Dr Mohamed-Ghouse said. 

As a founding member of the UN-GGIM PSN, AAM a Woolpert Company has a unique understanding of the challenges and solutions within the regions we serve, and beyond. A wealth of knowledge curated from 183 member states, the private sector network, and the academic network provide invaluable opportunities and insights to AAM clients, irrespective of industry or organisation.  

I deem it a great privilege and honour to serve the UN-GGIM Private Sector Network Board as its Chair. I look forward to working with Members, Board, Regional Chairs, and the entire UN-GGIM ecosystem in contributing and supporting the United Nations’ global spatial initiatives.”

The thirteenth session of the United Nations Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management will be held on 2 – 4 August 2023 UNHQ, New York.
